Why most parents get this wrong

The wrong layer at the wrong temperature is the most common sleep mistake.

Three things every first-time parent runs into, all in the first six months. None of them are obvious until you are awake at 3am wondering.

Babies can’t regulate temperature

Until around six months, infants can’t reliably warm or cool themselves. The wrong layer means a restless, uncomfortable night, for everyone.

Overheating is a real risk

Too many layers, or the wrong TOG, raise the risk of overheating during sleep. The Lullaby Trust safe-sleep range is 16-20°C.

Loose blankets aren’t safe

NHS and Lullaby Trust guidance is clear: no loose blankets in the cot under twelve months. A fitted sleep bag is the safe alternative.

Not sure if 1.0 TOG is right for your room?

Everyday starter, the perfect balance

At 18-20°C, the swaddle plus a soft bamboo bodysuit underneath gives the perfect balance of warmth and breathability. This is the most-loved combination.

Why Layering

Babies regulate temperature differently than adults. The right combination prevents both overheating and chill, the two most common causes of disturbed infant sleep.

Most Common Range

Most nurseries sit at 18-20°C overnight. Our pieces are designed and tested specifically for this range and the cooler nights either side of it.

Tested by Parents

This guide was refined with 2,400 families across two years of real mornings, late-night feeds, and unpredictable weather.

Our standards

Skin-kind. Temperature-matched. Built to last.

Organic cotton against the skin

Newborn skin is thinner and more permeable than adult skin, what touches it matters most. Every in-cot piece is 100% certified organic cotton. Base layers blend 5% elastane for stretch. Nothing else.

Class 1OEKO-TEX, the strictest standard for textiles worn against infant skin

Matched to your nursery

The Lullaby Trust and NHS recommend 16-20°C for overnight infant sleep. Every TOG combination in the range is matched to this bracket. For warmer summer nights, a single bodysuit is often layer enough, the layering tool will show you which.

Tested before it ships

Failures in infant sleepwear show up at the seam, the snap, or the zip, rarely the fabric. Every batch is independently tested before it leaves the workshop. Sleep bags to BS EN 16781, the UK's governing standard. Snap fastenings to BS 7907 pull-strength. By Intertek and Bureau Veritas, not us.

Our philosophy

We grow with them.

Every seam, size, and closure is considered for years of real use, not seasons of style.

Made to last, made to be passed along.
